05/24/10 8:00 am PAL Outdoors Club Registration (Ongoing)
The Nampa Police Activities League is now accepting applications for the PAL Outdoors Club. The Outdoors Club is program where officers from the Nampa Police Department take children out to experience outdoors activities like hiking, camping, kayaking and rock climbing.
The Outdoors Club is open to boys and girls ages 8 to 12 and the cost is $20. You can check out more of the program by going to the PAL web page at http://nampapal.org.
The application and information sheets are attached to this PDF. Every year we also have a need for children who can not afford the $20 application fee. If anyone would like to sponsor a child for the program please contact Sgt Tim Randall.

07/31/10 10:00 am National Night Out Crime Prevention Fair
The National Night Out Crime Prevention Fair is the kick off for the National Night Out events. It usually takes place one week before National Night Out, and is held at Nampa's Lakeview Park.
The Crime Prevention Fair includes displays and demonstrations from multiple law enforcement and emergency responder agencies from all across southwest Idaho. Recent attractions included a Blackhawk helicopter flying in, a climbing wall, the TRT (SWAT) team, Bomb Robot, K-9 demos, Search & Rescue Dogs, Fish and Game, Lil Al, NPD recruitment, several law enforcement agencies, Nampa Fire, Civil Air Patrol, Young Marines, Mercy & EMS child car seat installation, games for the kids and more. Idaho Search & Rescue performed a missing persons search with their search dogs and the band 31 Flavors also played. Children had the opportunity to meet and get autographs from Mrs. Idaho, Miss Idaho and Little Miss Idaho. There was also free hamburgers and hot dogs, Pepsi, snow cones, and cotton candy. Attendees also had the opportunity to dunk police officers in the dunk tank!
