Frequently Asked Questions Q: Does Nampa Police Department have a civilian ride a long program?A: NPD does have a ride a long program for civilians. You must be at least 16 years of age to qualify, and have a parent or guardian's authorization to ride if you are under 18 years of age. Q: How do I sign up for a ride a long?A: Come down to the main NPD office at 211 12th Ave S, Monday-Friday, 8am to 10pm. Bring your identification and a parent or guardian if you are under 18 years of age. Go to the records window and ask for a ride a long waiver. Records will then have you fill out the waiver and verify your identity. Once you are approved, the waiver will be assigned to a patrol team to schedule your ride a long. Q: Why do I need to bring my identification?A: Only persons with a clean criminal history are authorized for ride a longs. When you fill out the rider waiver, records will conduct a criminal history check to verify you have no prior felony convictions of any kind, as well as no prior criminal misdemeanor convictions within the last 5 years. Your identification is needed to verify your identity for the criminal history check. Q: Attention Patch Collectors: A: No e-mail or online requests for patches will be answered at this time. To request a patch, please do so by U.S. Mail and please include a self-addressed stamped envelope.
